Pilates is a physical fitness system that was developed in the early 20th century by Joseph Pilates during the First World War with the intention to improve the rehabilitation programme for casualties. Pilates classes build strength, flexibility and lean muscle tone with an emphasis on lengthening the body and aligning the spine, rather than on bulking and shortening the muscles. It has a focus on the core which can basically be thought of as the ‘powerhouse’ of your body. These results are unlike any other type of exercise, so if you feel like you have already tried everything to get the body you want without success, Pilates will astound you.

Pilates can really make a difference in your health without taking a toll on your body. The benefits of Pilates include:
